Videos Hosted On Other Platforms
Organizations are using third party video content management systems like YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, etc. to host their videos. In addition to hosting their videos on these platforms, there are two additional sources that are commonly contributing to an organization's video assets.
- There are video providers that support video recording and hosting (Vidyard, Loom, BombBomb). Professionals prefer these tools as it is very easy to record videos and share with your audience.
- Companies are increasingly recording Zoom and Webex calls. For example, it is very common to record training calls over these conference platforms and share those with sales as training videos.
In all of the above scenarios, companies end up with video assets on a variety of different platforms.
Organizations can centralize access to these video assets by adding them on Enablix. To add a video asset hosted on another platform, follow these steps:
- Copy the Video URL in the content management system (e.g. YouTube, Vidyard, Vimeo, etc.)
- In Enablix, go to Add > URL. Please refer to the help article Add a URL for more information.
- Once added, users can play the video in the preview section of the asset.
Video Security Settings The video security and privacy settings in the third-party video content management system are important. Majority of the video platforms support restrictions for security and privacy purposes. If these restrictions are ON, you may not be able to view the video in Enablix. Please refer to our article on Adding a Private Vimeo Video for more information.
Adding Native Video Files
Using third-party video content management apps are useful when sharing videos externally, as these video platforms give you control over the sharing and tracking of the video. However, for internal-facing videos that do not need these features, our customers find it easier to manage their video assets in our platform.
Enablix supports video format files. The process of adding a video file to Enablix is similar to the steps discussed in Add A File article.
Once added, users can play the video in the Enablix app.
Notes
- It may take several minutes for Enablix to encode the video. Preview is not available.
- For customers that have configured file storage on their cloud storage platform (see File Storage Integration), the native file will be stored on the cloud storage platform. And an encoded version of the file will be stored on Enablix's servers.
- Enablix supports up to 2GB video file size.
Sharing Videos Externally
Users can share videos just like any other asset. To learn all the ways to share content, click here.
Irrespective of how the Video is added to Enablix, the video is shown in an Enablix powered web view. Unlike other URLs where Enablix does not support a web view, for a video URL Enablix supports a web view. 
Supported Video Systems and Formats
Enablix team has tested the URLs from the following video content management systems. URL links from these video content management systems will show a preview in Enablix.
Note Enablix may support other video URLs too. However, those URLs are not tested. If you have a third-party video URL that is not working on Enablix, please contact us at help@enablix.com.

For native video files, Enablix supports a broad range of video formats. The following video formats are actively tested and confirmed.
