Videos Hosted On Other Platforms

Organizations are using third party video content management systems like YouTube, Vimeo, and Wistia to host their videos. In addition to hosting their videos on these platforms, there are two additional sources that are commonly contributing to an organization's video assets.

1. There are video providers that support video recording and hosting (Vidyard, Loom, BombBomb). Professionals prefer these tools as it is very easy to record videos and share with your audience. 
2. Companies are increasingly recording Zoom and Webex calls. For example, it is very common to record training calls over these conference platforms and share those with sales as training videos. 

In all of the above scenarios, companies end up with video assets on a variety of different platforms. 

Organizations can centralize access to these video assets by adding them on Enablix. To add a video asset hosted on another platform, follow these steps: 

1. Copy the Video URL in the content management system (YouTube, Vidyard, Vimeo, etc.)
2. From the Enablix homepage, go to Add > URL
3. Once added, users can access and play the video in the asset's preview section

Adding Native Video Files

Using third-party video content management apps are useful when sharing videos externally, as these video platforms give you control over the sharing and tracking of the video. However, for internal-facing videos that do not need these features, our customers find it easier to manage their video assets in our platform. 

Enablix supports video format files. To add a video asset that's a file, follow these steps:

1. From the Enablix homepage, go to Add > File and select the file you wish to add
2. Once added, users can access and play the video in the asset's preview section

Sharing Videos Externally

All assets either have a Shareable Value of Internal & Confidential or Externally Shareable. As long as the video is set to be Externally Shareable, users can share the video just like any other asset. To learn all the different ways to share content, click here.

Irrespective of how the Video is added to Enablix, the video is shown in an Enablix powered web view. Unlike other URLs where Enablix does not support a web view, for a video URL, Enablix supports a web view.

The Enablix team has tested the URLs from the following video content management systems:

For native video files, Enablix supports a broad range of video formats. The following video formats are actively tested:

• webm
• avi
• 3gp
