Properties (Company Settings)
Properties are customizable metadata fields that let you organize content and users beyond the standard options.

Managing Properties
To add a new property:
- Click the + button
- Enter the property's plural and singular name (used for search)
- Optionally, check Add property when new Content Type is defined to automatically include this property when a new Content Type is created

To add values to a property:
- Click the three horizontal bars next to the property
- Add your values

To edit or delete a property:
- Click the pencil icon on the property row to edit or delete the property
- Click the three horizontal bars to edit the property's values

Note: Some properties are system-generated and cannot be edited or deleted.
Properties for Content
Properties may look similar to Categories and Labels, but they work differently:
- Categories & Labels — You select from all available Categories and Labels across your portal
- Properties — You select from a specific dropdown of options defined for that property
- Targeted — Properties can be added only to relevant content types (e.g. a "Language" Property applied only to Content Types that support multilingual content)
- Required — Properties can be set as required when adding or editing content

Properties for Business Roles
Business roles are a type of property used on user profiles. They help you organize users by department — e.g. Marketing, Sales, Customer Success. Business roles can be used to sort users, create access groups, and filter reporting in Insights (such as viewing which Sales users have logged into Enablix).

Exporting Your Metadata
Click the document icon to export a list of metadata — the list will be sent to you via email. The export includes:
- Properties
- Content Types
- Categories & Labels
