Metadata

When adding content, some metadata fields are required such as title and content type. Metadata organizes your content and makes it easier to find.

Title (required)

Having a title is required. If shared externally, the title is visible:

Content Type (required)

You must select the content type—blog, presentation, video, etc.

To change a content type, hover over the three dots to the right of Share and select Change Content Type:

Admins can manage Content Types in Company Settings > Content Types.

Categories & Labels (recommended)

You can add labels to categorize the content by industry, solution, and more:

Admins can manage Categories and Labels from Company Settings > Categories.

Version Date

Defaults to the date you last added or edited the content, but you can manually select a different date.

Search results are displayed by latest version date first:

Description

Internal description—only Enablix users see this.

Excerpt

External description—visible to external recipients when:

Shareable

Controls sharing options—Externally Shareable or Internal & Confidential.

Access

Publishing content makes it accessible to all users. Adding access groups (such as 'Admin Only' or 'Approved for Sales') restricts content to specific user groups.

Admins can manage access groups in Company Settings > Access.

Collaborators

When you add collaborators, collaborators can:

    • Edit the content (regardless of their system role permissions)
    • Receive email notifications when the content is updated or deleted
    • Access private content that would otherwise only be visible to the owner and admins

Thumbnails

In some cases, Enablix cannot generate a thumbnail (e.g. file is not supported, URL doesn't allow embedding). You can always upload a  thumbnail.

Thumbnails are visible when:

Recommended thumbnail size: 360x200 pixels.

For MP4s, you have an additional option: click Select Video Thumbnail to choose a frame from the video as your thumbnail:

Owner

Defaults to the user who added the content.

To change the owner, hover over the three dots to the right of Share and select Change Owner:

Properties

Need more organizational options? Properties are customizable metadata fields that let you organize content beyond our standard options:

Admins can manage Properties in Company Settings > Properties.
